Bulgaria's weightlifting federation has decided to pull both the men's and women's teams out of the Olympic Games after all 11 athletes tested positive for doping. The athletes include the 2007 world champion in the 77kg category, Ivan Stoitsov.

Nick Krug/Journal-World Photo Lawrence resident and weighlifting referee Deborah McVey will be traveling to Beijing in August to take part in the Weightlifting competition of the Olympics. "I'm so excited," said McVey who has been involved in the sport since 1973.

Nike is using the Beijing Olympics as a springboard to help it gain a larger share of the Chinese market. It is sponsoring 22 of the 28 Chinese sports federations from basketball to weightlifting. MarketWatch's Andria Cheng reports. (May 10)
